Comcast NBCUniversal, NBC and Telemundo owned television stations will fund organizations that are doing work in three specific areas: Youth Education and Empowerment, Next Generation Storytellers and Community Engagement. These grants are general operating grants, and your application will be reviewed based on your overall work and impact in your local community.

The J.M.K. Innovation Prize seeks to identify and support bold problem-solvers leading transformative, early-stage projects in the fields of heritage conservation, the environment, and social justice.
In 2025, we will award up to 10 Prizes, each including a cash award of $150,000 over three years and $25,000 in technical assistance funds. Awardees will also receive guidance through the Fund’s resource network, accessing hands-on training and support to help turn their ideas into sustainable growth and impact.

FOCUS AREAS The Community Impact Grant Program (CIGP) will award grants to programs that center on one of four (4) focus areas:
• Food Security: Solutions to address access to healthy food options for people on low-income and the working poor. Examples include programs offered by food pantries and/or soup kitchens.
• Mental Well-Being: Solutions to address the growing demand for mental health services. Examples include programs that increase access to quality care, foster social connections for seniors and/or establish peer support networks.
• Environmental Sustainability: Solutions to address environmental challenges. Examples include programs that improve access to clean air and water, reduce waste through recycling and composting and/or disaster preparedness and mitigation.
• Vibrant Communities: Solutions that contribute to a vibrant and thriving community through access to arts and culture and physical well-being. Examples include programs that increase exposure to arts, sports and physical activity and/or neighborhood beautification projects.
Awards range from $50,000 - $200,000

Brooklyn Org’s Spark Prize provides $600,000 annually to outstanding Brooklyn organizations advancing racial justice and addressing critical challenges in our communities. The Prize is named for and informed by our mission to spark change for a fair and just Brooklyn.
Interested organizations must meet each of the following requirements:

Serve people and communities of Brooklyn

Be in operation for longer than five years

Can show a minimum organizational budget of $200,000 for most recent fiscal year

Have a 501c3 letter or a memorandum of understanding (MOU) from a fiscal sponsor

Have an active governing body (i.e., Board of Trustees, Advisory Board, etc.)

We encourage organizations that are not current Brooklyn Org grantees to apply, including those that applied for the Spark Prize in previous years (including finalists). Current BKO grantees are also eligible to apply. Former winners are not eligible to apply.
Please note that we do not fund the following:

Capital campaigns,

Schools (public, private, or charter, including PTAs)

The 5th Annual New York City Imagine Awards, the premier event that shines the spotlight on the nonprofit sector, will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Guastavino’s. This gala event was created to offer formal acknowledgment to some of the City’s most effective and innovative nonprofit organizations. 501(c)(3) nonprofits located in and/or significantly serving The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens or Staten Island are eligible to apply across six categories: Arts & Culture; DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and/or Accessibility); Innovation; Leadership Excellence; Rising Star; & Social Impact. The winner in each category will win a $5,000 grant. In addition, the 24 finalists, 4 in each category, will each receive a professionally produced video, which will be showcased the night of the event!

Expanding Access to Youth Mental Health and Well-Being.
The Tow Foundation is pleased to announce its 2025 Innovation Fund, a new grant opportunity for nonprofit organizations innovatively expanding access to the care and support that youth need to thrive.
The Innovation Fund intends to make grants, ranging from $300,000 to $1 million over three years, to up to 10 organizations that are improving youth mental health and well-being and serving young people between the ages of 0-25.
